Money Grab - Reloaded #
Several tech news sites including Infoworld are reporting that Microsoft is considering releasing an interim version of Windows prior to Longhorn being released dubbed Windows XP Reloaded. Can you say money grab (aka Windows ME)?

Hackers exploit Windows patches #
The BBC News has a report that states most viruses that exploit flaws in the Microsoft OS or applications occur after a patch has been released. The man in charge of Microsoft's security business and technology unit, claims that he knows of only one instance where there was hole being exploited before a patched was released.
They must be following the same logic where, in the past, they have said that Windows is more secure because more people use it and find holes which then get patched. I never understood this new math thing.

Back in the BLOG #
It has been way too long since I lasted posted. A lot has happened over the past six months and I have been pretty busy, but it is no excuse for the dearth of posting. My apologies.

Death of Wrox #
Yet another disappointing development in the technology world; the death of Wrox. Wrox Press published technology-related books under the Wrox name (with the scary pictures of its authors) as well as Glasshaus and Friends of Ed.
I first heard about their demise on webdesign-l and then it started to appear on various blogs. Now, making it more official, The Register reports that the parent company of Wrox is liquidating. I guess that what is most disturbing to me is that I really enjoy technology books that are very targeted and specific. Glasshaus was a great example for the web authoring market. If text's such as these are not self-sustaining, all that will be left are the books that try to cover everything but fail to truly inform readers on anything.

No Blogs from Marc Andreessen #
The ever irrelevant Marc Andreessen states No. I have a day job. I don't have the time or ego need.
to the question of whether or not he blogs in this recent interview from The Mercury News. How does this guy still get interviews?

Please Stop Snowing! #
As if 26½" of snow was not enough this weekend, I had deal with brushing off another inch this morning that covered everything that I just shoveled!
