US Patent Office 508 Compliant #
News that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is the first agency to make all of its electronic information accessible to those with disabilities strikes me both as exciting and disappointing. The fact that they see the value of making their information available to the widest possible audience is very encouraging. However, it is disappointing that US Sec 508 became law on June 21, 2001 and it has taken almost two years for the first agency to become compliant. (via Anitra Pavka) |/accessibility|
